Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Alabama
National Weather Service Huntsville AL
114 AM CDT Sat Jun 28 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Medium to high (30-60%) chances of showers and storms are
forecast today and Sunday. Chances will maximize during the
afternoon/early evening hours but then diminish after sunset each
evening. Any strong storms that do develop will bring the
potential for gusty winds, heavy downpours, and frequent
lightning. Moisture will continue to be elevated through the
weekend, keeping minimum relative humidity values well above
critical thresholds. West/southwest transport winds will mostly
remain below 10 mph each day, with mixing heights topping out
between 3000-5000 feet. Lastly, daytime dispersions are forecast
to be fair today then become fair to generally good on Sunday.

Fog potential over the next few days: At least 20-40% chance of
patchy to areas of fog (some which may become dense this morning)
during the late night/early morning hours over the next few days,
especially in river valleys, near bodies of water, and locations
that saw recent rainfall.

Potential for Red Flag Conditions: None at this time.
