Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Alabama
National Weather Service Huntsville AL

.DISCUSSION...

Afternoon showers and thunderstorms (initiated by a subtle
surface boundary positioned along the TN River) will dissipate
around or shortly before sunset, leaving mostly clear skies and
dry conditions overnight. However, a slightly greater coverage of
convection is expected region-wide both tomorrow afternoon and
evening. Strong downburst winds, frequent lightning and locally
heavy rainfall will be the primary impacts from storms both today
and tomorrow. During the early morning hours on Sunday, low-level
flow will shift to the NNE in the wake of a southwestward-moving
outflow boundary, and this will advect a drier airmass into the
region on Sunday (reducing rain chances of near 0%). Mixing
heights will be in the 7500-8500 ft range both days this weekend,
with strengthening northerly transport winds leading to a general
improvement in smoke dispersion (into the good category) by
Sunday.

Fog potential over the next few days: Brief development of patchy
mist/fog may occur each of the next few mornings (primarily in
locations that experience wetting rainfall).

Potential for Red Flag Conditions: None at this time.
