Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Alabama
National Weather Service Huntsville AL
243 AM CDT Sat May 17 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Clusters of strong-severe thunderstorms will continue to spread
east-southeastward across northern AL through the early morning
hours, but should exit the region by 7 AM CDT. Although some
lingering light rain will be possible across the southeastern fire
weather zones through the mid-morning hours, most of the area
will experience mostly sunny and dry conditions today. However,
showers and thunderstorms will return to the region by early
Sunday morning and continue at times through Wednesday morning. A
drier and cooler continental airmass will spread southeastward
across the region for the latter half of the work week. Smoke
dispersion indices will be in the good range both today and
Sunday, with mixing heights of 5000-5500 ft and transport winds of
10-15 MPH.

Fog potential over the next few days: None at this time.

Potential for Red Flag Conditions: None at this time.
