445 FNUS54 KHUN 061926 FWFHUN Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Alabama National Weather Service Huntsville AL 226 PM CDT Fri Jun 6 2025 .DISCUSSION... Showers and thunderstorms will continue to develop and spread eastward across northern AL through late this afternoon, and although much of this activity will dissipate with sunset, we may experience impacts from a small cluster of storms dropping into the region from the northwest this evening. A similar coverage of rain and storms is anticipated on Saturday, but intensity of convection across the northern portion of the state is a bit uncertain and may be influenced by lingering clouds from precipitation later this evening. A weak cold front will focus the development of widespread showers and storms on Saturday night, but this activity is expected to end from NW-to-SE late Sunday morning as the boundary shifts southeastward. Weather conditions next week will be dictated by the location of a subtle frontal feature draped across the region, and although additional periods of showers/storms will occur in the general area, there is a high degree of uncertainty in both timing and location. Smoke dispersion indices will improve from generally good (Saturday) to good (Sunday) as mixing heights rise to 4500-5000 ft and transport winds strengthen to 15-20 MPH. Fog potential over the next few days: Patchy fog will be possible early Saturday morning, especially in locations that receive wetting rainfall later today or this evening. Potential for Red Flag Conditions: None at this time.
