Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Alabama
National Weather Service Huntsville AL
410 AM CDT Tue Apr 22 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Showers and thunderstorms are in progress across much of northern
AL early this morning, with the greatest concentration along and
south of a stationary front cutting across northwest AL/southern
Middle TN. Although we expect this trend to continue for much of
the day, showers and storms will likely begin to dissipate early
this evening with the onset on the nocturnal cooling cycle. On
Wednesday, additional convection is predicted to develop in
conjunction with the diurnal warming cycle, resulting in high
chances for wetting rains during the late morning and afternoon.
Smoke dispersion indices will be in the generally poor-fair range
today, but will improve a bit on Wednesday as mixing heights rise
back into the 4500-5000 ft range.

Fog potential over the next few days: Conditions appear favorable
for the development of widespread, locally dense fog beginning
this evening and continuing through Wednesday morning.

Potential for Red Flag Conditions: None at this time.
