Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Alabama
National Weather Service Huntsville AL
231 PM CDT Wed Sep 3 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Strong daytime heating, along with an approaching upper level
system has produced scattered showers and thunderstorms across
Northern Alabama this afternoon. The passing disturbance will keep
low chances of showers/storms for tonight. A cold front nearing
from the west will keep chances of more showers and storms on
Thursday. Some of these storms could become strong to severe in
intensity, with strong to severe outflow wind gusts the main
threat. The highest threat for severe weather will be over
northeast Alabama.

Good smoke dispersion rates are forecast across the area Thursday
and on Friday.

Fog potential over the next few days: Patchy fog developing in
the overnight and early morning is possible. Sheltered valleys and
locations that received wetting rainfall would be more
susceptible for fog.

Potential for Red Flag Conditions: Not expected at this time.
