Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Alabama
National Weather Service Huntsville AL
Issued by National Weather Service Morristown TN
322 PM CDT Thu Jun 5 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Partly cloudy, warm and dry conditions will continue across most
of northern AL for the remainder of the afternoon, although an
isolated shower or storm will be possible through early this
evening in northwest AL. After a dry overnight period, chances for
showers and thunderstorms will increase throughout the day on
Friday, and will remain fairly high through at least Sunday
morning. A few strong-severe thunderstorms will be possible
throughout the period (mainly focused during the afternoon/evening
hours), with a risk for locally heavy rainfall and flooding
likely to materialize by Saturday evening. Periods of rain and
thunderstorms may continue through Monday/Tuesday next week, but
this will be dependent on the location of a slow-moving frontal
boundary and for this reason uncertainty at this time range
remains rather high. Smoke dispersion indices will be good both
Friday and Saturday, with mixing heights of 3500-4500 ft and
transport winds of 10-20 MPH.

Fog potential over the next few days: Patchy fog will be possible
in portions of the forecast area early Friday and Saturday
mornings.

Potential for Red Flag Conditions: None at this time.
