...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 130 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON...
...REPLACES FLASH FLOOD WARNING...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of southern middle Tennessee, including the
following counties, Franklin TN and Moore.
* WHEN...Until 130 PM CDT.
* IMPACTS...Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from
earlier rainfall. Expect many areas of slow moving or standing
water.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1109 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain
have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.2 inches are possible in
the warned area.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Winchester, Lynchburg, Decherd, Estill Springs, Cowan,
Huntland, Tims Ford Lake, Sewanee, Harmony, Belvidere, Lexie
Crossroads, Arnold AFB, Marble Hill, Maxwell, Hurdlow, Woods
Reservoir, Lois, Beans Creek, Alto and St. Andrews.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.
