.SHORT TERM...
(Friday through Sunday)
Issued at 1014 AM CDT Thu Jul 3 2025

High pressure will continue to influence the forecast through the
holiday weekend. We will remain dry tomorrow, July 4th, with an
abundance of sunshine and highs in the lower 90s. For fireworks,
the forecast will be in good shape with light winds, mostly clear
skies, and temperatures in the lower 80s to upper 70s.

The ridge will shift eastward and weaken this weekend as a few
shortwaves runs into it. Dry conditions will hold on through most
of the weekend with a very low chance (10-15%) of showers and
storms Sunday afternoon. An increase in moisture will push
dewpoints back into the 70s, thus increasing heat index values to
95-101 degrees both days. Enjoy your holiday weekend but continue
to practice heat safety by never leaving people or pets in
vehicles, drink water and seek shade.

.LONG TERM...
(Saturday night through Wednesday)
Issued at 956 PM CDT Wed Jul 2 2025

The ridge will shift ever so slightly to the east early next
week, but remain the dominant weather feature across the region
through at least Monday. Very low (10-20%) chance for a few
diurnally driven showers and storms were introduced Sunday and
Monday, but most locations will remain hot/dry, with highs
remaining in the low to mid 90s. A weak frontal boundary may begin
to approach the area Tuesday into Wednesday, with PoPs increasing
to 30-40% mainly focused during the afternoon and evening hours.
Other than some additional cloud cover, expect plenty of sunshine
and the heat to persist, with highs again remaining in the low to
mid 90s.
