At 711 PM PDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 12 miles east of Three Rivers, or 31 miles northeast of Porterville, moving north at 10 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Hockett Meadow Ranger Station, Bearpaw Ranger Station, Mineral King Ranger Station, Atwell Mill Campground, Cold Springs Campground, Wolverton Point, Giant Forest, Buckeye Flat Campground, and Redwood Meadow Patrol Cabin.
