.DISCUSSION...
Temperatures for the burn site will be typical for this time of year
for Labor Day before cloud cover associated with monsoonal moisture
causes temperatures a few degrees below average Tuesday through the
remainder of the week. The moisture will also raise the minimum
daytime RH from 20 to 25 percent on Monday to 30 to 35 percent on
Tuesday and subsequent days; overnight recoveries will also improve
to better than 50 percent overnight into Wednesday. Winds will
mainly be diurnal and terrain driven, with an upsloping influence
during the daytime and downsloping overnight. However, in relation
to the influx of monsoon moisture Tuesday, there is around a 25
percent chance for thunderstorms to develop, mainly in the
afternoon, though there is potential for showers to start before
11 AM PDT. In the 24 hour period ending 5 AM PDT Wednesday, there
is a 48 percent chance for measurable rainfall (greater than 0.01")
and a 27 percent chance for a wetting rainfall (greater than 0.1").
Localized rainfall rates have the potential to be heavier than
these probabilities, especially if thunderstorms move directly
over the site. In addition, small hail, gusty and erratic winds,
and lightning can be observed in developed storms.
