.DISCUSSION...
Weaker monsoon push today, with thunderstorm probability
focused along the Sierra Crest at 20-25%. Lower, but still
noteworthy (10-15%) probability down to approximately 5,000 feet.
Wetting rain probability less than 10% across the Sierra Nevada,
with higher probability concentrated around Mount Whitney and
above the tree line. Any storms that do develop have potential
for small hail, gusty and erratic winds, and locally intense
rainfall rates. Cloud-to-ground lightning will also be a
threat and has potential to spark new wildfires on dry fuels
outside of storm. Region-wide warmup drops minimum relative
humidity back down to normal, dryer percentages by Friday.
