A slight chance for thunderstorms exists until this evening and
again Saturday afternoon and evening over the higher elevations
of the Sierra Nevada due to an upper-level disturbance. Cooler
temperatures are in store for the weekend, along with gusty
winds over the Sierra Nevada crest into the Kern County desert
over this weekend. Locally gusty winds are possible Saturday
until Monday in the San Joaquin Valley combined with low
afternoon humidity and could pose an increased risk of grass
fires. Temperatures will warm back up to above average early
next week.
