.DISCUSSION...
A gradual warming trend will start today and extend into the
middle of next week with chances for triple digits in the valley
and desert areas Wednesday and Thursday. The rising temperatures
will cause a decrease in relative humidity, with minimums
approaching 20 to 25 percent next week. However, before then the
current upper level pattern will result in a 15 to 25 percent
chance for thunderstorms in the Sierra Nevada this afternoon.
There is a 25 to 35 percent chance for 0.1 inches of rainfall
in the higher elevations, though localized totals may be greater.
Gusty conditions are expected in the Mojave Slopes today due
to the current pattern, but winds will gradually subside as
high pressure builds in over the weekend.
