.DISCUSSION...
Seasonably warm to slightly below average temperatures are in
store until Tuesday. However, much above average temperatures
return for the latter part of this week. By late in the week,
an influx of monsoonal moisture will bring back the potential
for showers and thunderstorms to the mountains and could
spread into the desert by Friday. Elevated fire concerns will
continue through the period in the Kern County desert and
mountains due to increased winds at times combined with low
daytime humidity. Low fuel moisture combined with gusty
winds and low humidity will increase the threat for strong
to extreme fire behavior towards the Fort Tejon, the
Grapevine and Frazier Park areas from Wednesday until
Saturday.
