.DISCUSSION...With the quasi-stationary upper low over AZ
weakening, winds have been slowly decreasing across our area.
However, relative humidity remains very low across portions of
our area. most noticably over the central Sierra Nevada and the
West Side Hills. A Red Flag Warning continues for these area
until 500 pm PDT this afternoon. With decreased winds and a
slight increase in humidity expected on Sunday, so not expect
dangerous fire weather conditions although conditions will be
elevated for fire concerns due to low daytime humidity and poor
overnight recovery on Sunday and Monday. The low over AZ is
progged to slowly weaken and slowly move northward tonight and
Sunday then get swept eastward into the central CONUS on Monday
as it gets pushed eastward by a subtropical jet.

SREF is showing a fairly strong upper ridge building into CA as
the low to our east moves away. This will result in rising
heights and thicknesses over our area on Sunday and Monday and
continue the warming trend across our area that began today. By
midweek, afternoon highs are expected to be 6 to 8 DEG F above
daily normals. NBM is indicating a PoE of 85 DEG F across most
of the San Joaquin Valley will increase to 35 to 60 percent by
Wednesday. RH trends are showing increasing daytime humidity
and improved recovery by midweek which should decrease the fire
risk some. However, our area is expected to remain dry through
the end of next week although a trough pushing into the PAC NW
on Friday should bring a cooling trend to our area next on
Friday and Saturday with temperatures lowering to near normal
by Satruday as the ridge breaks down.
