131 FXUS66 KHNX 201122 AAB AFDHNX Area Forecast Discussion...UPDATED National Weather Service Hanford CA 1015 PM PDT Sat Apr 19 2025 .UPDATE... Updated AVIATION section. && .KEY MESSAGES... 1. Temperatures expected to continue warming up through Tuesday. 2. Temperatures will see a cooling trend late next week ahead of a disturbance moving into the area next weekend. 3. Locally breezy conditions expected across the Mojave Desert from the middle of next week into next weekend. && .DISCUSSION...An offshore upper ridge has shifted lightly inland into CA today bringing a warming and drying trend to our area. Skies are mainly clear across our area today except for some cumulus build-ups in the Sierra Nevada and adjacent foothills. The ridge is expected to remain flat for the next few days as shortwaves drop into the PAC NW. However, temperatures are going to continue trending upward each day through Tuesday with the PoE of 85 DEG F in the San Joaquin Valley expected to peak at 70 to 90 percent on Tuesday. Medium range ensemble means are showing a dry trough pushing through central CA on Wednesday and Thursday which will bring a cooling trend to the area both days. The cooling trend will then continue Friday and next weekend as a large upper low approaches the PAC NW on Friday and moves inland across the PAC NW on Saturday. Temperatures are expected to lower to near normal across our area by Friday and to below normal levels by Saturday. The deeper moisture and stronger dynamics from this system are progged to remain to the north of our area with precipitation chances confined to the Sierra Nevada from Fresno County northward on Friday night and Saturday. However, gusty winds will be possible across the mountains and deserts of Kern County, most noticably along the Mojave Desert Slopes, from the middle of next week into next weekend. && .AVIATION...06Z: VFR conditions will prevail across the central CA interior thru 12Z Monday. && .AIR QUALITY ISSUES...
