A slow moving and weakening cold front will push through Kauai today before stalling and dissipating over the Kauai channel tonight or Friday. Strong trade winds will rebuild across the state Friday and Saturday. A large, long period northerly swell will build this weekend, elevating seas and possibly generating harbor surges along north facing harbors. $$ Hawaiian waters within 40 nautical miles including the channels- .REST OF TODAY...Variable mainly south winds up to 15 knots except north to northeast winds 15 to 20 kt northwest of Kauai and east winds 10 to 20 knots windward and leeward Big Island.
