A low will settle roughly 500 nm northwest of Kauai Wednesday. Gentle to moderate south to southeast winds will prevail over the western half of the state through the rest of the week while moderate to locally fresh southeast winds persist over the eastern half of the state. Chance of heavy showers and thunderstorms hold into Thursday.
