Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion
NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD
354 AM EDT Tue Jul 29 2025

Valid 00Z Wed 30 Jul 2025 - 00Z Wed 06 Aug 2025

A surface trough will be exiting Kauai on Tuesday, behind which
the state should return close to normal for moisture levels, even
below normal as the week progresses. Trades will strengthen to
breezy levels Tuesday-Wednesday and remain breezy through the rest
of the week into the weekend. This is coincident with a
tightening pressure gradient as Hurricane Iona, Tropical Storm
Keli, and another tropical disturbance being monitored for
development all pass south of the state, while a subtropical
surface high sets up to the north. Drier conditions should
continue under a mid/upper level ridge, for limited passing
showers. The relatively dry trade wind pattern should last through
early next week. Will monitor potential for any lingering remnant
energy from another tropical system to approach Hawaii from the
east closer to the middle of next week.
