Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion
NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD

Valid 00Z Sat 23 Aug 2025 - 00Z Sat 30 Aug 2025

A typical trade wind pattern, moderately breezy at times, will
prevail with upper ridging over Hawaii for the next week. Early
to mid next week, troughing may creep into the northernmost
islands but any associated precipitation should stay north while
the ITCZ remains relatively undisturbed south of the Hawaiian
Islands. The upper trough should retreat back north with upper
ridging again expanding across the state by late next week. The
overall pattern supports a typical summertime pattern over Hawaii
with drier conditions and not much in the way of rainfall except
for typical windward and mauka areas. Guidance shows good
agreement on the overall setup through the period.
