Surface high pressure will drift to the north of the state through
much of the week before an upper level trough and associated cold
front approaches from the west. Easterly winds of 15 to 25 kts
with higher gusts can be expected along with rainfall to focus
over the eastern slopes of the Big Island however some rain my
spread to the leeward areas. With the approach of the cold front
the trades will reduce in speed somewhat in addition to
reorienting the best rain chances on the southeastern sides of the
islands.
