...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS APPROACHING THE WATERS...

  Coastal waters from Freeport to Matagorda Ship Channel TX out 20
NM...  Waters from Freeport to Matagorda Ship Channel TX from 20 to
60   NM...

At 1120 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable
of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were
located along a line extending from near Surfside Jetty to 10 nm
northwest of Brazos 400 to near Matagorda Jetty, moving southeast at
10 knots.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor
immediately until these storms pass.

These strong thunderstorms will likely produce winds to around 30
knots, and could pose a serious hazard for boaters. A special marine
warning may eventually be required when these strong thunderstorms
reaches the nearshore waters. Boaters should consider heading for
shore before these strong thunderstorms arrives.
