373 FZUS54 KHGX 052253 CWFHGX Coastal Waters Forecast for Texas National Weather Service Houston/Galveston TX 453 PM CST Wed Feb 5 2025 Upper Texas coastal waters from High Island to the Matagorda Ship Channel out 60 nautical miles including Galveston and Matagorda Bays. Seas are provided as a range of the average height of the highest 1/3 of the waves...along with the occasional height of the average highest 10 percent of the waves. GMZ300-061115- Synopsis for High Island to the Matagorda Ship Channel out 60 nautical miles including Galveston and Matagorda Bays 453 PM CST Wed Feb 5 2025 .Synopsis For High Island to the Matagorda Ship Channel Out 60 NM including Galveston and Matagorda Bays. Fog areas are beginning to expand in the bays. Light south to southeast winds and low seas are expected much of the week. Prolonged periods of dense sea fog is likely across the southern parts of the bays and nearshore waters through the end of the week. Fog will be densest and most widespread during the evening through mid morning hours each day. During the afternoon hours, there has been some improvement in the bays. Some spots, especially along the nearshore waters, may see little to no improvement in visibility during the daytime hours. Mariners should plan for some extended periods of reduced visibilites and associated navigation hazards.
