...BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH SUNDAY
MORNING...

* WHAT...Elevated swells, large surf, above normal tide levels,
  and a high risk of rip currents expected.

* WHERE...Gulf-facing beaches, including the Matagorda
  Peninsula, Brazoria County beaches, Galveston Island and the
  Bolivar Peninsula.

* WHEN...Though Sunday morning.

* IMPACTS...Large surf and a high risk of rip currents will make
  for dangerous swimming conditions. In addition, water levels
  will run above normal and wave run-up will pose a minor
  coastal flood threat around times of high tide into Sunday
  morning. The lowest lying portions and roads along the Bolivar
  Peninsula including the intersection of Highway 87 at 124,
  western Galveston Island, Blue Water Highway and Surfside may
  see some minor overwash around those times.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain out of the water to avoid hazardous swimming conditions.
