...BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH WEDNESDAY
MORNING...

* WHAT...Strong rip currents are expected. Minor coastal
  flooding and wave run-ups are possible north of Port Bolivar,
  particularly during times of high tide.

* WHERE...Gulf-facing beaches,including Galveston Island and the
  Bolivar Peninsula.

* WHEN...Through Wednesday morning.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of lots, parks, and roads with only
  isolated road closures possible, particularly for areas north
  of Port Bolivar. Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers
  away from shore into deeper water.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain out of the water to avoid hazardous swimming conditions.
