...WINTER STORM WARNING FOR THE SUMMITS OF MAUNA KEA AND MAUNA LOA
THROUGH 6 AM SATURDAY...

.A strong winter low pressure system will bring periods of heavy
snow to the summits of the Big Island through Friday night.

...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM HST SATURDAY...

* WHAT...Snow developing. Snow will be heavy at times. Total snow
  accumulations of 10 to 15 inches. Winds gusting as high as 85 mph
  will result in considerable blowing and drifting of snow.

* WHERE...Big Island Summits.

* WHEN...Until 6 AM HST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Blowing
  snow will significantly reduce visibility at times, with periods
  of zero visibility.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow, sleet, and
ice are expected or occurring. Strong winds are also possible. This
will make travel very hazardous or impossible. Any travel plans to
the summits should be postponed until the threat diminishes.
