The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a

* Special Marine Warning for...
  Big Island Windward Waters...

* Until 1100 AM HST.

* At 952 AM HST, severe thunderstorms capable of producing
  waterspouts were located along a line extending from near Cape
  Kumukahi to 6 nm southeast of FAD Buoy KH, moving northeast at 35
  knots.

  HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally
           hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly
           higher winds and suddenly higher waves.

* Locations impacted include...
  FAD Buoy D and Cape Kumukahi.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Prepare for gusty winds, steep and fast-building seas, and blinding
downpours. Stay low or go below, and make sure all on board are
wearing life jackets.

Thunderstorms can produce sudden waterspouts. Waterspouts can easily
overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Seek safe harbor
immediately.
