* Until 1030 PM HST.

* At 823 PM HST, a strong thunderstorm was located 18 nm west of
  Southern Tip of Niihau, or 44 nm west of Barking Sands, moving west
  at 5 knots.

  HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and
           suddenly higher waves.

* The strong thunderstorm will remain over mainly open waters.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Prepare for gusty winds, steep and fast-building seas, and blinding
