The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a

* Special Marine Warning for...
  Alenuihaha Channel...

* Until 500 PM HST.

* At 401 PM HST, a strong thunderstorm was located 10 nm southeast of
  FAD Buoy HS, or 18 nm south of Makena, moving south at 10 knots.

  HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater and small hail.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and
           suddenly higher waves.

* The strong thunderstorm will remain over mainly open waters.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Prepare for gusty winds, steep and fast-building seas, and blinding
downpours. Stay low or go below, and make sure all on board are
wearing life jackets.
