Offshore Waters Forecast for Hawaii

Hawaiian offshore waters beyond 40 nautical miles out to 240
nautical miles including the portion of the Papahanaumokuakea
Marine National Monument east of French Frigate Shoals

Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average height
of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be more than
twice the significant wave height.

.Synopsis for the Hawaiian offshore waters...
A high pressure ridge N of the Hawaiian Islands will drift E in
response to an approaching cold front far NW of the state. A
surface trough will form over the Hawaiian region by Monday, ahead
of the cold front. Gale-force winds are forecast NW of the cold
frontal boundary. Another high pressure ridge will build N of the
area mid week. E Isolated thunderstorms are possible due to
unstable conditions through much of the forecast period.

kt SE of front. NE to E winds 20 to 30 kt NW of front. Seas 6 to
9 ft, highest NW waters. Isolated thunderstorms NW and SE waters.
.WEDNESDAY...N waters, E winds 20 to 30 kt. S waters, E winds 10
to 20 kt. Seas 8 to 12 ft, highest NW waters. Isolated
