Offshore Waters Forecast for Hawaii

Hawaiian offshore waters beyond 40 nautical miles out to 240
nautical miles including the portion of the Papahanaumokuakea
Marine National Monument east of French Frigate Shoals

Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average height
of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be more than
twice the significant wave height.

.Synopsis for the Hawaiian offshore waters...
The high pressure ridge will remain weak across the region through
the weekend. A front will approach from the NW, then stall and
diminish near the far NW waters this weekend. An extra large NW
swell is also expected starting on Saturday.

E 10 to 20 kt elsewhere. Seas 6 to 8 ft.
.WEDNESDAY...Ridge from 23N165W to 24N155W. N of ridge, SE to S
winds 5 to 10 kt. E to SE winds 5 to 15 kt elsewhere. Seas 6 to
9 ft, highest far N waters.
.THURSDAY AND FRIDAY...NW waters, SE to S winds 5 to 10 kt. E to
SE winds 10 to 20 kt elsewhere. Seas 7 to 9 ft.
.SATURDAY...Cold front approaching NW waters. NW waters, S to SW
winds 10 to 20 kt. E to SE winds 5 to 15 kt elsewhere. Seas 6 to
15 ft, highest far NW waters. Seas building to 10 to 14 ft across
NW waters by Saturday night. Isolated thunderstorms NW half.
