641 FZHW60 PHFO 310939 OFFHFO Offshore Waters Forecast for Hawaii National Weather Service Honolulu HI 1139 PM HST Thu Jan 30 2025 Hawaiian offshore waters beyond 40 nautical miles out to 240 nautical miles including the portion of the Papahanaumokuakea Marine National Monument east of French Frigate Shoals Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. A strong low pressure system passing N of the area will bring strong to gale force S to SW winds, low visibility in heavy rain, as well as strong to severe thunderstorms through Friday. The threat for thunderstorms and severe winds will decrease over NW waters overnight, but persist elsewhere.
