Offshore Waters Forecast for Hawaii

Hawaiian offshore waters beyond 40 nautical miles out to 240
nautical miles including the portion of the Papahanaumokuakea
Marine National Monument east of French Frigate Shoals

Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average height
of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be more than
twice the significant wave height.

.Synopsis for the Hawaiian offshore waters...
High pressure NE of the area will push further E as a cold front
moves into NW waters on Tuesday, driven by strong high pressure
currently to the NW that will move quickly to the E. A surface
trough will form over the Hawaiian region by Monday, ahead of the
cold front. Gale-force winds are forecast NW of the cold frontal
boundary. Isolated thunderstorms are possible due to unstable
conditions through much of the forecast period.

.TUESDAY...Cold front entering NW waters. NE to E winds 10 to 20
kt SE of front. NE to E winds 20 to 30 kt NW of front. Seas 6 to
9 ft, highest NW waters. Isolated thunderstorms NW and SE waters.
.WEDNESDAY...N waters, E winds 20 to 30 kt. S waters, E winds 10
to 20 kt. Seas 8 to 12 ft, highest NW waters. Isolated
thunderstorms E of 160W.
.THURSDAY...E winds 15 to 25 kt. Seas 9 to 11 ft.
