Offshore Waters Forecast for Hawaii

Hawaiian offshore waters beyond 40 nautical miles out to 240
nautical miles including the portion of the Papahanaumokuakea
Marine National Monument east of French Frigate Shoals

Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average height
of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be more than
twice the significant wave height.

.Synopsis for the Hawaiian offshore waters...
A slow moving cold front will move over the NW waters tonight and
stall and dissipate just west of the central waters Thursday.
Chance of thunderstorms remains for Thursday along the front even
though it has tapered out tonight. Trade winds will rebuild
Friday and Saturday. A large swell is forecast to affect the
waters Saturday through early next week.

front N to NE winds 10 to 20 kt. SE half, winds E to SE winds 10
to 20 kt. Elsewhere variable winds 10 kt or less. Seas 6 to 8 ft.
Isolated thunderstorms NW half.
.THURSDAY NIGHT...NW half, NE winds 10 to 20 kt. SE half, E to SE
winds 10 to 20 kt. Seas 6 to 9 ft, building to 6 to 11 ft after
midnight.
.FRIDAY THROUGH MONDAY...E winds 10 to 25 kt. Seas 6 to 11 ft,
building to 9 to 15 ft Saturday then easing to 8 to 13 ft Monday.
