.DISCUSSION...

Early this week, winds will remain fairly light out of the south
to southeast. Conditions will be mostly dry, with a slight
increasing trend in showers as Howland Island sits under weak high
pressure between troughs to the north and south. A strengthening
trough passing north of Howland Island late this week will lead to
increasing chances of precipitation and a low potential for
thunderstorms by Friday. A short-period south-southeast swell
fades through the week, while a new south-southwest swell arriving
tonight builds through Wednesday before fading the rest of the
week. Other, smaller background south swells also move through the
area this week.
