Spot Forecast for Protected Species Field Camp- FFS...NOAA Fisheries
National Weather Service Honolulu HI
709 AM HST Sun Jul 27 2025

Forecast is based on forecast start time of 0800 HST on July 27.
If conditions become unrepresentative, contact the National Weather
Service.

.DISCUSSION...
A trough of low pressure will linger near FFS through most of the week,
which will keep winds at gentle speeds. As far as rainfall, scattered
showers will be possible on most days, but the heavier showers and
the threat for thunderstorms should stay north of FFS. A tropical
cyclone is currently developing far southeast of the Big Island and is
tracking westward. Confidence is high that the cyclone will stay well
south of FFS as it passes later in the week. Although weather impacts
will be minimal to FFS, southeast swells from the tropical cyclone will be
possible later in the week. A large long-period south swell is also
possible towards the end of the week.
