PHZ100-060400- 503 AM HST Sat Sep 5 2026 .Synopsis for Hawaiian coastal waters... A surface high persists north of the Hawaiian Islands and will slowly drift east through the weekend. As of 500 AM, Hurricane Lowell is located 545 nm south-southwest of Lihue and is moving west at 6 knots. The interaction between the two has kept trade winds fresh to locally strong. Lowell turns northward this weekend, causing winds to veer to the southeast to south with the strongest winds over the western end of the state.
