.DISCUSSION...Locally dense fog will lift over the next hour or so
as the ground begins to warm up. Then it will be a very warm and
humid day. That will provide the fuel for some scattered showers
and thunderstorms across the region this afternoon and evening. The
lower Kennebec River Valley will start to see chances for
thunderstorms increase during the mid afternoon hours, though storms
should remain scattered and it is possible that it stays dry. A
second round of storms will be possible closer to sunset. Some of
these storms could be strong to severe, with gusty winds, hail, and
heavy rain all possible.
