.DISCUSSION...
Light breeze continues overnight as RH values slowly recover
tonight into the 70 to 80 percent range. There will be isolated to
scattered showers through the area overnight with much of the
coverage in the northern two thirds of the forecast area. The
slight chance of a passing thunderstorm also exists late tonight
and Saturday. The best chance of a wetting rain tonight through
Saturday will be in the mountains of NH and western ME. This
carries into central ME and the Kennebec Valley. Elsewhere,
showers will tend to be scattered with smaller rain area. A cold
front passes Saturday night bringing a WNW wind shift and increase
in winds. On Sunday NW winds will be gusty and sustained 20 mph
gusting to 35 mph is possible. Additionally despite cool
temperatures the minimum RH values will be near 15 percent for a
large portion of the forecast area. Dewpoints may potentially
be a few degrees cooler than forecast if full mixing is achieved.
The greatest fire concerns will be for areas that receive little
rain Saturday.
