Backcountry Avalanche Warning

The following message is transmitted at the request of the Forest
Service Mount Washington Avalanche Center, Gorham NH.

The US Forest Service Mount Washington Avalanche Center has
issued a backcountry avalanche warning. This avalanche warning
does not apply to operating ski areas.

* WHAT...The avalanche danger is high. Very large avalanches are
  likely today.

* WHERE...The Presidential Range Avalanche Forecast Area,
  including popular locations like Tuckerman Ravine, Gulf of
  Slides, Huntington Ravine, and Great Gulf.

* WHEN...7 AM Monday to to 7 AM Tuesday

* IMPACTS...Natural and human-triggered avalanches large enough to
  bury people are very likely to occur. Very large avalanches
  large enough to break large trees may occur.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Avalanches may run long distances and can run into mature
forests, ravine floors, or flat terrain.

Travel in avalanche terrain is not recommended.

Similar avalanche danger may exist at locations outside the
coverage area of this or any avalanche center.
