...DEVELOPING TROPICAL DISTURBANCE COULD AFFECT THE MARIANAS
SUNDAY AND MONDAY...
...STRONG WINDS...HEAVY RAIN AND HAZARDOUS SURF AND MARINE
CONDITIONS POSSIBLE...

A tropical disturbance, known as Invest 94W from the Joint Typhoon
Warning Center, continues to slowly develop southeast of Chuuk
centered near 3.0N and 156.8E. This system will trek
northwestward and approach the Marianas through the weekend. The
latest forecast model trend favors a passage of 94W near to south
of Guam Sunday night into Monday, possibly as a tropical
depression or weak tropical storm, with the greatest impacts
likely for Guam and Rota.

POTENTIAL IMPACTS:
- Sustained winds exceeding 30 mph.

- Locally heavy rainfall potentially causing flash flooding,
especially in areas of poor drainage or in the valleys of hilly
  terrain.

- Hazardous surf and marine conditions.

As this disturbance is still poorly organized, much uncertainty
remains high regarding the strength, track and timing of its
eventual passage south or through the Marianas. Continue to
monitor latest forecasts from weather.gov/gum and information from
your local emergency management offices.
