.DISCUSSION...A TUTT cell is seen over the northern CNMI, with the
extending south across the Marianas. Scattered showers and isolated
thunderstorms are found to the north and east of the cell and the
TUTT. These features will continue to drift west, bringing the
increased showers and thunderstorms over the marianas later this
afternoon into the evening. This will maintain increased convection
over the region through Friday. Current model trends keep most of
monsoonal pattern west of the Marianas, but as the near-equatorial
trough in western Chuuk State lifts northward towards the Marianas
as a surface trough, still expect a wetter pattern for the weekend.
However, showers are expected to be episodic in nature, where there
may be periods of showery weather followed by more sunshine. Winds
remain gentle to moderate with some gusty winds near heavier showers.
West to southwest swell will build across the Marianas over the next
few days.
