The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...
  Central Transylvania County in western North Carolina...
  West central Henderson County in western North Carolina...
  Northeastern Jackson County in western North Carolina...
  Southeastern Haywood County in western North Carolina...

* Until 530 AM EDT.

* At 443 AM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
  was located 9 miles south of Waynesville, or near B.R.
  Parkway-Balsam Gap To Black Balsam Area, moving east at 35 mph.

  HAZARD...Tornado and quarter size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

  IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
           shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
           Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree
           damage is likely.

* This dangerous storm will be near...
  Black Balsam Area and B.R. Parkway-Balsam Gap To Black Balsam Area
  around 450 AM EDT.
  Graveyard Fields around 500 AM EDT.
  Looking Glass around 510 AM EDT.

Other locations impacted by this dangerous thunderstorm include
Tuckasegee, Balsam Grove, Cruso, and Sunburst.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter
and protect yourself from flying debris.
