...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTH CENTRAL JACKSON...
NORTHEASTERN SWAIN...WEST CENTRAL BUNCOMBE AND HAYWOOD COUNTIES
THROUGH 1230 AM EST...

At 1153 PM EST, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 9
miles southeast of Gatlinburg, or 6 miles northeast of Smoky
Mountains-Newfound Gap, moving east at 55 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Waynesville, Canton, Lake Junaluska, Clyde, Maggie Valley, Smoky
Mountains-Newfound Gap, B.R. Parkway-Smoky Mountains To Balsam Gap,
Smoky Mountains-Cataloochee, Smoky Mountains-Balsam Mountain, and
Smoky Mountains-Big Creek.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
