SOUTHEASTERN AVERY AND NORTHWESTERN BURKE COUNTIES THROUGH 600 PM
EDT...

At 537 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 10
miles southeast of Newland, or 6 miles east of Linville Falls, moving
northeast at 10 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Edgemont, Globe, Upton, Blowing Rock In Caldwell County, Jonas Ridge,
B.R. Parkway-Linville Falls To Grandfather, and Grandfather Mountain
State Park.
