...FROST-FREEZE PROGRAM HAS ENDED THIS FALL FOR MOST OF THE NORTH
CAROLINA MOUNTAINS UNTIL NEXT SPRING...

Temperatures fell below 32 degrees this morning across all of the
North Carolina Mountains except for Henderson County. Freezing
temperatures also occurred for the Blue Ridge portion of McDowell
County. The freezing temperatures effectively ended the growing
season across these zones. Freeze Warnings and Frost Advisories
will no longer be issued for these zones until the growing season
begins again in Spring 2025.

However, temperatures did not fall below freezing this morning
across the rest of the forecast area. Freeze warnings and Frost
Advisories will still be issued for these areas whenever
widespread temperatures below freezing are forecast, or until the
morning of November 1 across the rest of the mountains and
November 11 for the rest of the forecast area, whichever occurs
first.
