National Weather Service Grand Rapids MI

The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids will be conducting a
required, scheduled update to their Advanced Weather Interactive
Processing System (AWIPS) May 27 through May 29, 2025.

During the time of the update, no impacts to core services of
forecast products and weather watches, warnings and advisories are
expected to occur.

However, the following services will be impacted by the required,
scheduled update to AWIPS that will occur at the National Weather
Service in Grand Rapids May 27 through May 29, 2025.

- NOAA Weather Radio All-Hazards: All NOAA Weather Radio
      transmitters maintained by the National Weather Service in
      Grand Rapids will be off the air for the entirety of the update.

      This includes the following transmitters in Michigan: Onondaga,
      West Olive, Hesperia, Mount Pleasant, Cannonsburg, Plainwell and
      Wolf Lake.

- May 28th - NOAA Weather Radio Weekly Test: The NOAA Weather
      Radio Weekly Test for Wednesday, May 28th will not be
      conducted. The NOAA Weather Radio Weekly Test will resume with
      the next regularly scheduled test on Wednesday, June 4th.

- Local Forecast Graphics: Some local forecast graphics available
      on the National Weather Service Grand Rapids web page will be
      unavailable for the entirety of the update.

This required, scheduled update to AWIPS at the National Weather
Service in Grand Rapids will occur regardless of ongoing or expected
weather conditions in the area May 27 through May 29, 2025.
