A Marine Weather Statement has been issued for the following areas...
  Nearshore and Open Waters from St Joseph to Grand Haven MI...

At 239 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms over southern
Lake Michigan, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. These
thunderstorms were located 14 nm northwest of New Buffalo, or 15 nm
north of Michigan City, moving northeast at 40 knots. Additional
scattered thunderstorms are possible over eastern Lake Michigan
through mid to late afternoon.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor
immediately until this storm passes.
