...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS APPROACHING THE WATERS...

The areas affected include...
  Nearshore and Open Waters from Whitehall to Manistee MI...

At 531 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable
of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were
located along a line extending from 16 nm northwest of Big Sable
Point Light to 30 miles west of Little Sable Point and were moving
east at 30 knots.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, and lightning strikes. A special marine warning may
eventually be required when these storms reach the nearshore waters.
Therefore, boaters should consider seeking safe harbor now
while storms are still closer to mid-lake.
