.DISCUSSION...

Colder temperatures move in this weekend and continue into next week
with highs in the 30s and 40s. Minimum relative humidity values will
remain 50 percent or greater into next week with northerly winds.
Rain moves in late Saturday afternoon and evening and transitions to
snow late Saturday night into Sunday morning. The main area of
snowfall will be a narrow band that sets up in the Kalamazoo to
Lansing area, but a slight shift could bring little to no
accumulations through Sunday. Another area will be along the
lakeshore where a lake effect snow band is expected. This could bring
several inches of snow if it moves onshore. The warm ground will
limit accumulations to mainly elevated and grassy surfaces. If rates
are high enough they could accumulate on all surfaces. Lake effect
snow will linger through Monday and potentially later into the week
before transitioning to rain as warmer temperatures move in.
